Paul McBride is the managing partner of the firm's Sacramento office. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Cornell Law School. He served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983 to 1993. As a military attorney, Mr. McBride gained extensive trial experience, serving as both a prosecuting attorney and a defense counsel at three Marine Corps installations. He has tried over 400 criminal cases at courts-martial, including a high profile death penalty case and two espionage cases. He served his final tour of duty at the Pentagon. Since leaving active service in 1993, Mr. McBride has remained active in the Marine Corps Reserve. A lieutenant colonel, Mr. McBride was recalled to active duty from February 2003 through January 2004, and again from May 2006 through June 2007, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Since 1993, Mr. McBride has practiced civil litigation in Southern California. He was formerly a partner at Borton, Petrini & Conron in Newport Beach, where he specialized in the defense of personal injury and construction defect claims. He joined Kring & Chung, LLP in 1998. In his current practice, Mr. McBride concentrates primarily in construction defect litigation and business litigation. His most recent trial was in defense of a stucco subcontractor facing a $3,000,000 claim in a construction defect action in Phoenix, Arizona. The six-day jury trial resulted in a defense verdict for Mr. McBride's client.

Mr. McBride is the author of "Court of Appeals Ruling Threatens Affordable Housing: A critical analysis of Presley Homes, Inc. v. American States Insurance Company." Mr. McBride argues that the court's ruling greatly expanding the scope of additional insured endorsements in subcontractors' general liability insurance policies is legally flawed and poor public policy.

Mr. McBride takes an active role in CALPASC, the trade association of California subcontractors.

Mr. McBride is married to Dr. Gabrielle Stryker, a professor of biology, and has two children.
