Anthony M. Wright joined Kring and Chung in 2007 after two years of operating his own general law practice which emphasized family and criminal matters. Anthony is a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Nevada who witnessed Southern Nevada’s tremendous growth in population. The dramatic value increases in real estate impressed him with the belief that a firm knowledge of real estate investing and property law would serve him well. This insight upon graduating from high school compelled him to purchase rental homes and to major in real estate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Anthony silently took note of the problems his tenants and fellow students faced on a daily basis living in Las Vegas. Most of the problems involved gambling, alcohol, drugs, and the toll these vices had on paying rent, keeping jobs, succeeding in school, and maintaining health and healthy relationships. He realized that an understanding of family law and criminal law in addition to his knowledge of real estate would not only serve him well, but would give him the opportunity to serve the ever-expanding community that was his home town. Knowing this, Anthony applied to law school and was accepted into Nevada’s new and only legal college, William S. Boyd School of Law.
At law school, Anthony could not wait to practice law and immediately applied for an externship with a District Court Judge, which was granted. He spent a summer analyzing numerous court documents and reducing the Judge’s decisions to written Orders. After completing the externship, Anthony wanted to experience the practice of law from the other side of the bench and joined the Child Welfare Clinic, which provided a means to represent abused, abandoned, and neglected children in court years before he became eligible to take the bar exam. Anthony also enjoyed his membership in the Society of Advocates which focused on developing lawyering skills.
After law school, Anthony spend a year as a law clerk learning the entire process of licensing businesses, including seeking various land use applications while working at a prestigious Las Vegas firm with high-end clientele (i.e. from mom and pop shops to casinos and resorts). This work dovetailed with his enthusiasm for real estate and any law that involved the building and regulating of his city.
With his diverse background, Anthony went into business for himself utilizing the breadth of his experience by representing a broad client base. He found he especially enjoyed helping people who were at desperate times in their lives--folks suffering through legal disputes with family members or the criminal justice system.
Despite his interest in helping these clients, Anthony was ignoring his true passion, which was pursuing a career in law that focused on the construction and regulation of society. Anthony therefore sought a firm that had an established reputation and was impressed with Kring and Chung’s business and construction work as well as their smaller family law practice.
Anthony now spends his days defending the builders of his city in construction cases as well as helping the occasional client with family or other problems.
