Kathleen
Elder-Blakely joined Kring & Chung as a partner in 2003
to manage the firm’s rapidly growing family practice
at the firm’s Ontario, Chino, Irvine and San Diego offices.
Ms. Elder-Blakely joins Kring & Chung after five years
of operating her own successful private practice in family,
criminal defense and bankruptcy matters.
Ms. Elder-Blakely
has extensive expertise in assisting clients with all types
of family law matters including marital dissolutions,
community property divisions, quasi-community property distributions,
child support, spousal support, modification hearings, adoptions
and pre-nuptial agreements. In addition, she has assisted
numerous consumer clients navigate the bankruptcy courts in
California.
In
addition to effectively handling family law and bankruptcy
matters, Ms. Elder-Blakely has a broad range of experience
handling criminal defense misdemeanor arraignments, plea bargains
and trials. While attending law school, she worked as a law
clerk for a criminal defense attorney in Brea and upon graduating
she became an associate. In 1997, she left the firm to develop
a thriving private practice in Chino, assisting clients with
family, criminal defense, and bankruptcy matters.
In 2001, Ms.
Elder-Blakely was accepted as a life member of the national
registry of Who’s Who. In addition, she
has received recognition from the California State Senate and
the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors for her many
hours of volunteer legal aid service to the community.
Ms. Elder-Blakely was born
in New Jersey and lived there until her family moved to California
when she was five years old.
She spent her early years through
high school with her family in Hacienda Heights. Ms. Elder-Blakely currently
lives in Chino Hills with her husband and two children.
