Marvin
Amoroso began his legal career over 10 years ago. Mr. Amoroso
worked his way up from file clerk to senior litigation paralegal
while completing his undergraduate degree. Mr. Amoroso’s
exposure and love of the law made his decision easy to continue
on to law school. While in law school Mr. Amoroso was a certified
student, under the authority of Rule 5.0 of the State Bar.
As a certified student Mr. Amoroso was allowed to conduct depositions,
argue motions, negotiate contracts, engage in arbitration,
mediation and participate in trial. Mr. Amoroso earned his
law degree in 2000.
In 2000 Mr. Amoroso joined Fireman’s Fund Insurance
Company’s Staff Counsel. Mr. Amoroso engaged in construction
defect and general casualty cases. Mr. Amoroso was chosen to
be part of Fireman’s Fund’s peer review group.
Mr. Amoroso collaborated with claims supervisors, counsel and
staff to make Fireman’s Fund’s Staff Counsel more
efficient. Mr. Amoroso was also chosen to spearhead and create
Fireman’s Fund’s Staff Counsel’s law and
motion department (pilot program). Mr. Amoroso was awarded
the Fireman’s Fund performance recognition award for
his contribution to the company.
In addition to Mr. Amoroso’s experience in construction
defect and general casualty litigation, he has also represented
insurers giving coverage opinion in the areas of building defect
and general coverage issues. Mr. Amoroso’s ADR experience
entails successfully representing subcontractors at mediation.
Mr. Amoroso has worked with other prominent and well respected
insurance defense firms. In 2004 Mr. Amoroso joined the Ontario
office of Kring & Chung as an associate attorney. Mr. Amoroso
will specialize in construction defect and insurance defense
representing general contractors and subcontractors in different
areas of trade.
