Kring & Chung launches series of Sexual Harassment Training Seminars to meet California’s Assembly Bill 1825 requirement
IRVINE, CA – August 4, 2005
When Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed Assembly Bill 1825 on September 28, 2004, employers instantly became responsible for sexual harassment for supervisory employees within the workplace. As a result, Kring & Chung LLP has launched a series of training seminars that will enable companies to meet their legal requirements.
Specifically, the bill requires that employers with 50 or more employees, train and educate all “supervisors” about sexual harassment. The intent of the law is to prevent sexual harassment. Fortune 500 companies spend approximately $6.7 million in indirect costs annually as a result of sexual harassment claims.
By January 1, 2006 employers must provide two hours of sexual harassment training and education to all supervisory employees who are employed as of July 1, 2005. The training must be provided every two years, and to each new supervisory employee within six months of their assuming supervisory duties.
Kring & Chung will conduct training seminars at their headquarters in Irvine, CA, as well as provide one-on one meetings with scheduled appointments in advance.
